Allow Your Clients to Manage Their Billing

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of allowing your clients to manage their own billing information and payment methods using the Stripe Customer Portal. With the Customer Portal, your clients will have the ability to perform various tasks, including viewing invoices, making payments for pending invoices, changing billing details, and managing payment methods.

Before proceeding with this feature, it is important to ensure that you have a Stripe Account set up and integrated as described in the previous lesson.

Step 1

Configure the customer portal in your Stripe Account. To begin, access the customer portal configuration in your Stripe Account. This can be done by logging into your Stripe Account and navigating to the appropriate settings section. Once there, enable the following options for your customers to access: Customer Information, Payment Methods, Invoices, and Cancelations. You can refer to the accompanying screens below to help you with the configuration.

Step 2

Enable the option "Allow Clients to Update the Billing Info and Payment Methods". Next, you need to enable the option that allows clients to update their billing information and payment methods. By activating this option, the "Manage Billing" button will be made available on your client's "My Subscription Page." This button is essential for clients to access the necessary functionalities.

Step 3

Client Access to Billing Info Management. With the option enabled in the previous step, paying clients can now access their subscription page and locate the "Manage Billing" button. By clicking on this button, they will be directed to the Customer Portal, where they can manage their billing information effectively.

Step 4

Customer Portal Features. Within the Customer Portal, your customers will have access to a range of features. They will be able to view their invoices, make payments for any pending invoices, update their billing details, and manage their payment methods. These features provide a seamless and convenient experience for your clients in managing their billing and payment-related tasks.

By following these steps, you can successfully set up and configure the Stripe Customer Portal, empowering your clients to take control of their billing information and payment methods.
